Ready to take your embroidery to the next level? Come along to this workshop where you can learn some basic Drawn Thread Work stitches.
Drawn Thread Work is a traditional technique of whitework embroidery on linen, resulting in decorative bands of open work embroidery. In this one-day workshop, you'll learn some of these basic stitches and have the chance to study original pieces from our own collection of textiles. This workshop is suitable for beginners with some basic stitching experience.
Please note, this workshop will take place in Cultra Manor which is situated in the grounds of Ulster Folk Museum.

The workshop is aimed at beginners with some basic skills, and those with intermediate needlework skills who wish to explore some aspects of a traditional embroidery technique. Kit, with materials and patterns included.
There will be tea and coffee provided. Please bring a packed lunch or you can purchase lunch in the Ulster Folk Museum's Tea Room.
This workshop will take place in the Training Room of Cultra Manor. Arrival information and directions will be sent in advance.
