Join Victoria Millar, Senior Curator of History at Magheragallan Byre Dwelling to discover how and why it was moved to our museum, and learn how its inhabitants coped with sharing a living space with their cattle!

Homes in Focus is a series of intimate talks that take place in the Ulster Folk Museum’s beautiful buildings, where we’ll be deep diving into the lives of the past inhabitants and the history of these unique homes.

For the first of the series, we’ll be gathering in Magheragallan Byre Dwelling. Originally part of a cluster of houses situated in the coastal region of Gweedore, County Donegal, this home was occupied seasonally in the summer months when livestock was moved to common grazing land on the coastal plain.

Please note, this event is for 12+ and there are two time slots available on 17th June:

  • 11:00 to 11:45
  • 13:00 to 13:45
