From the untamed woodlands and flowing streams to the hedgerows, verges, and the green boundaries between our historic buildings, a diverse array of plants, animals, and insects call this place home.
During Nature Day, you’ll have the chance to explore these rich natural spaces and connect with the passionate people involved in growing, conservation, and scientific research at the Ulster Folk Museum. With a variety of hands-on activities, guided walks, and experiences tailored for all ages and interests, there’s something for everyone.

Hear about foraging at the Folk Museum and try some forage treats with Clare McQuillan of Feasting on Weeds.

Build an insect hotel with the museum's Landscaping team
Lough Neagh Postcards | 11:00 to 15:00
Join Young Friends of the Earth in our exhibit buildings originally from the banks of Lough Neagh to make lino printed postcards inspired by the museum collections to send to Stormont demanding action be taken on the environmental crisis facing the Lough.
